Renee Richards is one smart, beautiful and sassy sister, but she has the worst taste in men. The last man Renee trusted with her heart, ended up stealing her money. Determined to make him pay, she hires a private investigator to track him down, but the con-artist ex-boyfriend threatens her safety. Renee vows never to give her heart to another man ... then her childhood crush pops back into her life ... and he has a proposal, of sorts.

Successful account executive, Craig Thompson needs a bride like yesterday, so he can get his hands on his heritance. He's got a sure fire plan to purchase the ad agency where he works, unfortunately, the last thing Craig wants to do is get married. But, as a plan forms in his head, the first person he thinks of is Renee, the skinny little sister of her former best friend. She always did have a crush on him and she did make a childish promise to marry him whenever he was ready. Surely, she would jump at the chance to be his wife. Right?

A marriage, even for three months, seems a godsend for both Renee and Craig ... unfortunately, both are hiding secrets which could cost them everything ... including someone's life.
